​Lise Richer, 67, is an Ottawa-based creative who works in multiple mediums. "Tranquility Bay" is oil on canvas, created in 2015.

"I take photos of landscapes with peace, quiet and tranquility," Richer explains. "I find peace of mind, zen, in the woods, up north, far from people. This painting is [a scene I photographed] in New Brunswick, with the tepees placed there, to represent my Algonquin heritage. It's a dream of where my ancestors would be."
