is looking for two new or emerging writers in the Ottawa area interested in a unique get-paid-to-train opportunity.
The two successful writers will each prepare and conduct a 10-to-20-minute phone interview with a creative or celebrity in music, film or TV.
Following the interview, you’ll present a potential headline, deck and a two- to three-paragraph introduction and discuss the interview with Robert Ballantyne, Creative Director. The Q&A format interview and its introduction will then be transcribed and prepared by the Creative Director.
The story, featuring your byline, will be published on Artsculture.ca and its upcoming magazine edition in January.
This opportunity will pay an honorarium of $40 (representing about two hours of work and compensation for return public transit) and will require you to work in our co-working office space at 306-116 Albert Street. A laptop will be provided for you to record the interview and for creative writing. If you're able to record the interview, there may also be an opportunity to work remotely.

You'll also need to share your area of arts expertise or interest, along with at least one Canadian creative that you’d like to interview. will arrange the interview either way, but it’s better if you’re interested in the creative.
We will do our best to arrange the interview based on your schedule, but we can't control an interviewee's availability, so there will be some time flexibility required.
